Seeking information on a John ARKINS who came to Victoria, Australia c1839
as a
10 year old.

Later... on 5 birth certificates of his children he claimed to have come
from Co Cork.

John married in1855, Catherine HENRY, in Maitland, NSW, Australia. Names
of the

1st two boys: John Charles and Thomas Henry. There was also a WilliamJohn.

John's big interest was training race horses. Because he regularly visited
Victoria, I'm

inclined to suspect that he still had a family connection there.

I'd like to hear from someone who knew of any Arkins in Co Cork....

I think they were pretty thin on the ground.

Regards, Mary
