Lori,
I don't find an Upper Riverstown in Co. Cork, but the town of plain
Riverstown is located less than a mile NNE of Glanmire town, both along the
Glashaboy River. However, Glanmire is on the western bank of the river, and
is in Rathcooney civil parish, while Riverstown is on the eastern bank; most
of it in Templeusque civil parish, and some of it in Ballydeloher CP. There
is more developed area north of Riverstown (up the river, "Upper" Riverstown
perhaps), but I don't see the actual name of Upper Riverstown on the maps or
in the Townland Listings.
Although not an official townland, there is an area identified as Upper
Glanmire shown on the Discovery maps. This area is a couple of miles NNW of
Glanmire town, and is located within the townland of Ballinvriskig, St.
Michael's civil parish. This place might be a possible location for you.
I'm afraid that I can't help you much with the research stuff, as I don't do
any genealogy myself.
