There is so much misinformation going around about wills that it can be very
confusing, the following I believe to be correct -
The courthouse in Cork holds the calendars but not the original wills
(although they may hold some very recent wills)
The national archives, Dublin holds most wills (district and principal
registry) from 1908, and transcribed will books, for the district registries
only, prior to that date. Most principal registry wills prior to 1908 have
been destroyed.
The LDS have filmed the calendars from 1858 and the district will books (ie
transcripts of the wills) 1858-97.
For the period you are looking the original wills and related court papers
should all be in the NA.
These notes, a link to the NA web site, and LDS film numbers, are on my web
site.
