Subject: [Cork] Newbie - Kin at Kildorrery?
Date: Thu, 15 May 2003 10:13:29 +1000
Hi all,
I'm new to Irish genealogy having just found my ancestors birth place on the
1861 London census.
Jerome Driscol, Head, 29, General Labourer, Cork, Koldorory (?)
then wife and children - then what appears to be two sisters
Ellen Driscol, Head, (Unmarried), 34, General Servant, Cork, as above
Mary Ann Driscol, Head, (Unmarried), 32, Ironer, Cork as above
I'm thinking that the place must be Kildorrery as the writing is very poor.
So now I have the birthplace of my ancestors - what next? Are there any
"how-to" websites I could go to to learn more about how to trace his family.
Cheers,
Sharon
