I am searching for details about my great grandfather Michael Hogan born
Cork 1848.He immigrated with his family to Australia in 1885 but a thorough

search has not been able to turn up his death in this country. His death
occurred before 1924 and he may have returned to Ireland.
The IGI shows a Michael Hogan b 1848 dying 6-6-1923 in Cork.
I was wondering if it is possible that there may be newspaper death notices

from the time that may help find if this is my Michael Hogan. His wife was
Celia (Miskell) and she died in Tasmania in 1924.
Any help on where to look for this information greatly appreciated
Regards Mike Donovan - Gold Coast Australia<

yes, Mike, it is possible he returned to Ireland; I had English
ancestors who went to Australia, made their money, and retired
back to England.

Why not go ahead and order the death certificates from the
General Register's Office?
