Laureen,

Glengarriff town is located on Glengarriff Harbor at the north side of Bantry
Bay, 6 or 7 miles NW across the Bay from Bantry town itself. It is located
in Kilcaskan civil parish and Glengarriffe (Bonane) RC parish.

Inchinagoun townland is about 4 miles ENE of Glengarriff (but probably twice
that by road) in Kilmocomoge civil and Bantry RC parish. Inchinagoun is a
two-mile long, slender, townland lying down along the Cooleenlemane River valley.
There are few buildings in the townland, and only one road approaching it at
the southern end and another minor road along much of its eastern border. I
have written "essentially impassable" across this road (on my map) at Priests
Leap, on the Kerry/Cork border. I have thought about taking this road as a
'shortcut' on more than one occasion, but have always chickened-out. Maybe next
time. This is really remote country.

The nearest RC church to Inchinagoun is the one in Cooryleary townland, a
couple of miles south of Inchinagoun. This church (and associated school) are
also shown on the map from the mid-1800's. There is a postoffice near this
church, but I can't find its name on any map or gazetteer. Although in
Cooryleary, the settlement is apparently known as Coomhola, as is the church (that's the
name of the larger river there). More info on the church at:
