Hi,

I would try the 1911 census for the address on the birth of Edward Daniel
1912 Belfast. This should show which county Jeremiah comes from.

How many Jeremiah Dineens did you find in the birth indexes born about 1888?

Daniel DINEEN
- Jeremiah DINEEN, b. c.1888, d. age 43, 1931, Belfast.
Married Mary Ellen QUINN, details on certificate:

Jeremiah Dineen (father Daniel Dineen - farmer) occupation clerk, married
Mary Ellen Quinn (father Edward Quinn - Cabinet Maker) on 18th August 1908
at St Andrews Roman Catholic Church in South Dublin, County of Dublin.
Witnesses: James AUSTIN, Katie FARRELL. Residence at time of marriage 5
Brunswick Street (same address for bride).

Children:
- Edward Daniel DINEEN b. 28/12/1912 Belfast, Antrim, d. 27/12/1975 Belfast,
Down
- Doreen Moira DINEEN b. 18/2/1920 Belfast, Down d. 1987 Australia

So far I have sent away for four birth certificates for Jeremiah Dineen -
all wrong.
The little bit of oral family history I have is that Jeremiah was from
Cork/Kerry way and that his father Daniel was brother of Patrick Stephen
Dinneen author of Irish Dictionary. I have seen some posts for this family
but Daniel is not mentioned however a search on the IGI shows a brother
named Daniel (2 actually, different spelling). I have a biography of
Patrick DINNEEN but it is in Gaelic and there is no translation.

Any advice on where to go next would be gratefully accepted. I need a birth
certificate for Jeremiah. I am going to try 1901/1911 Census through local
LDS centre.
