Perry Davis

Perry Davis, one of the oldest and best known veterans at the Oklahoma
Confederate Home, died this morning following an attack of heart failure.
Definite funeral arrangements have not been made. The body is being held at
the Bettes Funeral Home. Services will probably be tomorrow from the chapel
of the Confederate Home.
Mrs. Davis was 92 years old. His death followed an illness of two weeksâ
resulting from a recent injury received from a fall. He was born in Monroe,
Mississippi. During the Civil War, he served in the Confederate Army. For
the past nine years, Mr. Davis has been living in the Oklahoma Confederate
Home. No immediate relatives survive Mr. Davis.

Double funeral services fro Perry Davis and B. C. Clark 79, veterans of the
Civil War, who died Friday at Oklahoma Confederate Home were held Saturday
morning at 10:00 from the chapel of the Confederate Home.
Rev. George W. Lewis, superintendent of the home, officiates at the
services at the home. Burial was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery with the
Bettes Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. The Masonic order of
which Mr. Clark was a member held services at the grave for Mr. Clark.
Both Mr. Davis and Mr. Clark had been inmates at the Confederate Home for
some time having come here about 9 years ago.
