Hello everyone,

I am getting a lot of request from new researchers who have joined
or been away, so I am going to send this to ALL the Freedmen List.
In 2002, I created State Freedmen list for every state in the USA. I also
created list for all five of it's territories and the country of Canada.
For anyone new who missed prior post on the Freedmen Project, all you have to
do is go to:EXAMPLE

OK-FREEDMEN
TN-FREEDMEN
or whatever state you prefer. Just use the first two initials for your state
like above. Or you can use the Rootsweb archiver to search. Just type in the
name.

The following is a list of all the states that are completed:

I will try and have the remaining states, territories, and Canada done by
March. But in the mean time, you can use any of them.
After March these list will be for specific Freedmen in or from that state.
Periodic updates from the Freedmen Project will be posted to all list till
the project work is completed. So you really only need to be on one of them
till then. Or you may get duplicate postings.

Any questions please feel free to ask me.

PS: Please remember that the indiviual surname list are the only one's to
recieve the Freedmen Surname Reports.
So if you see a long list of names that are completed, you will have to
search between March 2002 and Dec 2002 to get to them. Just use the same
archiver I gave you's the link for the states.
