Anyone out there researching these people who came to US from Guebwiller
Haut-Rhin France in 1850 to New Orleans, LA and lived/died there with some
descendants in Mississippi? It was alternately under French/German control.
Primarily the residents spoke German.
(Johannus)Jean Adam Deck=Anne Marie Orthler (lin)
Jean Adam Deck=Anne Marie Pfulbin
Jean Paulus Deck=Barbara Mungott (Herrgott?)
Joseph Richard Deck=Catherine Hammerer
Francois Pierre Deck Sr=Rose Perne' (Berne')
Francois Pierre Deck=#1 Anne Marie Berdelet #2Anne Marie Wunderli(n)
Francois Joseph Deck=Mary McDevitt
Jane Frances Deck=George Franklin Holcombe
I have researched this family in France back to early 1600s and name has
always
been spelled Deck in that country. Joseph Theodore Deck of "Deck Bleu" fame on
Sevres pottery was a cousin of Francois Pierre Deck Sr and lived in
Guebwiller.
Willing to share info and on-line contact in this area of France. A Deck son,
Alexandre Deck, moved to Mississippi. He was a confederate soldier, captured
at Vicksburg and sent to Camp Morton IN, later repatrioted and moved to
Mississippi. Can anyone help me find his burial in Yazoo County Miss? After
his death his wife, Jennie, lived and died at "Beauvoir" (Jeff Davis' old home
and cemetery for vets and widows) in Biloxi, Miss Please email me
