Not having much experience, I venture into this with some hesitancy
and ask those who have other methods to contribute their ideas:
I believe that when you "Save As" a JPEG file you are saving the whole
plot view of the particular deed file. If you have placed 25 deeds in
an area which covers thirty miles or forty miles, you may want to show
only a select group of owners in a genealogy exhibit. Then, as you
suggested, you can use the SaveAs command and use Adobe or other
program to edit the file to get the portion you want, and save the
JPEG file in the manner you generally use to attach an exhibit to the
genealogical program.
Another way, the one I chose the other day, was the capture the screen
method using a print-screen program (Printkey, in my case). The
byte-size of this screen file will be less using this method. However,
by using the SaveAS command as above, the larger size file would only
be a temporary condition before the edit in creating a JPEG exhibit.

So you're saying, though, that the byte size may be smaller by
capturing the screen? I've done that process before but never paid
attention to file sizes.
