Greetings All,
I've just put up on VFAR's web site some information about how to plot
old Virginia Land Descriptions. I've included a Bearing Equivalent
Table, old Compass and some linear measurement equivalents. This
information is most useful to folks who want to plot early Virginia land
boundaries. But other Deed Mapper users may find it helpful.
My version of Deed Mapper does not recognize the old compass bearings,
such as ENE. It requires degrees, minutes and seconds to be entered as a
single entity separated by a period. I have a version of my Bearing
Equivalent Table that includes a column in that Deed Mapper format. It
is not on line, but I can add it to the on line table. If anyone would
find it useful, let me know.
VFAR's URL is below.
Best wishes,
