Hello:
I'm a new enthusiast of DeedMapper, but after trying to plat 10 Virginia
patents and deeds, I've only succeeded in getting one to work. I
suspect I need to learn how to accommodate odd phrases and meanders.
Would someone mind platting two of three different ones (that should be
related) for me, send me a file, so I can study the script? By the way,
the one that appears to plat correctly is Bartholomew Hoskins' 1350
patent that's 675 poles long and parallel to the Rappahannock River!

1. To Maj. Thomas Goodrich. 600 acres of land situate on the South
side of Rappahanock River near the miles end of a Patent of 1350 acres
of Land taken up by Bartholomew Hoskins beginning at a marked White Oak
standing upon the side of Hoskins's Creek and runing Parallel to the
Land of John Gillett East by North 127 Poles unto a marked Spanish Oak,
then East by South 222 poles unto a marked Pochickory, thence South by
West 250 poles to a marked Pochickory, thence West by North 222 poles to
a marked Gum, then West by South 99 poles to a Marked White Oak Standing
on the west side of a Deep branch down the said branch South by West to
Hoskins Creek and up the said Creek to the first mentioned bounds,
including the said 600 acres of Land. 10 JUN 1657.

2. To Clement Thrush. 164 acres of Land Scituate lying and being upon
the South side of Rappahannock river and beginneth on a certain Creeke
by which is made a Penninsula at the Easternmost End and extendeth
parallel unto the river Northwest two hundred poles unto his Land
Purchased of Barth. Hoskins then bounded upon the said Land Southwest
one hundred sixty four poles unto the aforesaid Creeke by which is made
a triangle included by the river and the said Creeke Conta. as
aforesaid. 6 DEC 1652.

Or 3. To Clement Thrush. 150 acres scituate in the County of Lancaster
on ye South Side of Rappa. River and is bounded, viz., beginning at a
marked Pockichory standing on the woods of the head of a divident of
land formerly surveyed for Bath. Hoskins and Extending thence into the
woods by a line of mark'd Trees deviding the land and a tract of land of
400 Acres of John Gillett's South West 320 pole thence North West 94
poles for the breadth of ye head and So. East by North 337 poles by a
line of Mark trees deviding the land & another devidt. of land of John
Gillett's of 200 Acres to a marked red Oake Standing on the Southward
Side of a Deep bottom & finally from thence by the head of the aforesd.
Land of Barth. Hoskins 27 poles South East to the first mentioned tree .
. . 7 SEP 1654.

If someone would be willing to plat these and send me the script for me
to study and learn from, I would be thrilled!!. If so, please send file
to or

Thanks alot.
