That dimension is the whole picture width not just the map width. Forget
that dimension and just deal with the scale 1/80000. There is a scale on
the map showing 1 mile and 1300 feet. Draw a line 1 mile long or 13000
feet. Match line with scale.

I don't understand how you got to 36.5"... According to Photoshop and
XnView on my system, the original image is 7316x6416 pixels at 150dpi.
That's roughly 48.77" by 42.77". What software gave you a 36.5" width, and
what is it telling you are the resolution and pixel dimensions?
