I have a large portion of my map here:
http://webpages.charter.net/MarieR/Gaps.htm
I'm trying to coordinate the beige and light green areas for near future
publication. I need some advice on what to do with the gaps. They are
caused by a variety of reasons I'm sure like compass declination, errors
that the surveyor made, etc. Some of the gaps look so simple to resolve but
it always ends up going to tracts that absolutely cannot be moved to close
the gap. Do I adjust some surveys to fit? How can I keep the map and the
surveys true if I do? You can see in the background the light township
borders. Some borders pertain exactly to a particular tract. I do check
gaps to see if maybe a tract belongs there but the adjoiners prove that
there are no missing tracts.
Please reply to the list.
Thanks!
