I am researching John Pattison and Esther McNeil and family who lived in
New Castle from about 1820 through 1858 and then moved to Kent County.
Their children were: John, Hugh, William, Elizabeth, and Mary [married Sam
Cahall and had at least one child, James].

John had two brothers William and Nathaniel, are three were born in Ireland
about 1800 and were in Delaware by 1820ish. John sponsored both of his
brothers for citizenship. Nathaniel was a minister, I believe Methodist
though the Methodist have not been able to find any records of him. John
and Esther are burried in Barrat's Cemetery [a methodist cemetery].

John owned land in Kent county by 1858, North MurderKill Hundred. Hereneted
or onwed land in New Castle county from about 1828-1858. I believe William
worked the New Castle farm with John until 1845ish when he moved to
Wilmington and worked as a blacksmith/mechanic.

Hugh Morre Pattison marries Margaret Abbott in New Jersey in 1850. They
have at least the following children:

Hugh E. and Nathaniel [twins]
Emma
Anna
Elizabeth
Mary
James
Margaret
Willium
George

Hugh E. marries Jane and they have the following children:
Mary
Hugh E.
John B.
Jane A.
Unknown female marring a Wilson
William

Emma marrys Hubert Byrnes and they ahve the following children:
Henritta
Francis
Elizabeth
Mary May
Hubert
Loretta
Thomas Henry
James

There is a Canadian connection Emma and two of her grandchildren are born
in Canada. Also, the family story/tradition says that Margaret Abbott was
Cherokee, though I have found nothing to back that claim yet.
