my maternal side is from harrington de
and lived on the bend of rt 14 west
across the street from them were their friends and neighbors
the flemings they were quite well to do , and i believe the father owned a general store , his name was ezeikel fleming
he had three daughters that i know of
miss laura , miss ann, and miss bess
i believe only miss bess married and her sisters
lived in what was called the fleming mansion until their death
\up in the attic was tons of old merchandise from their fathers store - my grandmother was born in 1893 and believe these ladies were born before her
my mother had very fond memories of time spent with the old maids the house eventually went to auction- has had a couple owners since i have been in it and have heard the story of a ghost who haunts it / a gentleman believed to be a civil war soldier
the ladies and i assume their parents are buried in hollywood cemetary in harrington de (rt 14)
i will pick my mothers brains for stories if you'd like
i think they also had at least one brother - mr tom
(who liked the spirits!-drink)
