I am from Jonathan Muncy born ca 1778. I have found a post that two folks think he came from Elijah. He married Susannah Hilliard ca 1803 in Kent Co., Delaware. Jonathan moved to Highland Co., OH ca 1819-1820. He died in 1838 in Ross county. There is a Thomas Muncy listed in Highland co., OH in 1811. Thomas is also listed in Ross Co., OH in 1840. I think there is a connection but have not found it. Jonathan is listed in the Duck Creek Tax lists from 1816-1819. There is a Cornelius and Thomas Muncy listed for the first time in 1818 and 1819 in the tax lists. I do not know if they would be taxed as a poll at age 16 or 21. This would indicate that they were born around 1796 or 1802. I think they could be children of my Jonathan rather than brothers. The children that I do know are Jonathans were born as early as 1811. I would not think that they would be childless from 1803-1811, that is why I think these two boys are this children. There are some other Muncys in the other ta!
x districts of Kent County. I ordered more tax films to dig a little deeper. Any thoughts? Any ideas are appreciated.
