Dear Peggy,
Thank you so much for the information on the new book and about Solomon Dill and Sarah Scully. The line of Dills that you have listed goes as follows:
Generation 1) John and Sarah Dill (married 1702)five boys
Their children are Edward, John, William, James and George
Generation 2) William and Mary Early Dill (married ca 1726)
Their children are Job, william, John, James, Elizabeth, Joseph, Sarah, solomon, Rebecca and Philemon. I am not sure about their order of birth.
Generation 3) Solomon and Rachel Dill (married ca 1760)
Thier children are Solomon, unknown
Generation 4) Solomon Dilland Sarah Scully(married ca 1800)
Their children are Solomon, Burton, John and Lydia.
I have a copy of the will of my gg grand father Solomon Dill who's wife was Sarah (maiden name unknown). Their children are John (b 1781), Nancy Minor (b 1783), Benjamin (b 1784), Henry (b 1786), Abner (b 1790) and Elizabeth Reese (b 1790). I know from a biography that this Benjamin moved from Delaware to Mason Co., KY with his family when he was young (circa 1785 to 1790). So Benjamin's parents, Solomon and Sarah (maiden name unknown), must have been married circa 1780 and this Solomon Dill must have been born between 1750 and 1760. The Solomon Dill who married Sarah Scully that you list from the book have children with different names that those that are in the will that I have a copy of. So there must have been another Solomon Dill. I am still looking to find the right connection.
I will get the book for my files and read it to see if I can resolve this ancestry line.
Thanks,
George D. Dill
