Hi Listers:
I will offer a reward to anyone who can produce a picture of my mother's
first husband: SAMUEL EDWARD COLE (or Edward Samuel). Here are his
vitals:
He was born in Cherry Hill, MD. in 1885 to parents James & Mary (nee
Drennen) Cole.
In Aug.,1917 he married my mom in Hartford, CT.
In June 1918 he was under medical attention when he registered for the
WW-1 draft; at the time he was living at 48 No. Chapel St., in Newark,
DE.
By 1919 the Coles were separated. Samuel E. Cole died in June 1940 while
living with his sister Ida (Mrs. Wm. Morrison) at 28 Choate St., in
Newark, DE. He is buried in the Methodist Church Cemetery in Cherry Hill,
MD.
He was an officer in the Knights of Pythias Osceola Lodge of Newark.
He was a member of Concordia Hill Lodge No. 67 F. & A.M. of
Philadelphia.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and a volunteer fireman of
Newark.
His other siblings include: William; Charles; Tolbert; George; Retta (Mrs
Lewis); and Elizabeth (Mrs. John McCreary).
Samuel Cole was employed as a prominent paper worker in various mills
including; MD.; DE.; and PA.
