I am particularly interested in any identifying data about the
Edward Green mentioned in this writing.
New Castle County, Delaware Deed Book A:
Page 126:
Whereas Sundry accounpts have been depending betwixt Charles
Pickaringe & Edward Green concerning the ship Friends adventures
& otherways it is this Concluded by & between the said Parties
that upon the final Conclusion & ending of said accompts the said
Charles Pickering shall pay or cause to be Paid to said Edward
Green the somme of Eighty Pounds of New England Money when
Demanded it being Provided that all Tobacco Bills dew in S'nt
Joneses & appoqueneme be Delivered up which is now Performed &
acknowledged except three Hogsheads of Tobacco Received by said
Green from Hance Manson als Miller for which he hath Paid the
like Quantity from Mr. John Hilyard also it is agreed that the
said Green shall with all covenient expedition this following
spring cause to be shipped from New England to Philadelphia sixty
Thousand foot of Pine Boards for the use of the said Charles
Pickering for which the said Charles Greene shall receive One
Hundred and eighty Pounds of like Money or the Value thereof as
Witness my Hand this the Day abovesaid

However, the date associated with the immediately preceding item
is 21 January 1684/5. The next following indenture is dated 9
January 1984. The person named Charles Greene in the preceding
item may be a mistake caused by intermixing of the names of
Edward Green and Charles Pickering.]
