I have not posted for a while, and thought I would try again. I have a David
BATTON WAY b. June 1821 New Castle, DE m. Mary L BROOKS in 1850 New Castle,
DE.
David and Mary gave surnames to their children as middle names. These names
were: GAMMELL, BATTON, GAMMELL, LEWIS, STANTON and BROOKS.
I have yet to find any parents or siblings for David. He has eluded me for
many, many years. I have a picture of him (looks kind of like a gnome to me)
and many of his drawings and letters, (he was a carpenter) but no parents!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
