Can anyone tell me if there is or were used in New Castle County any
documents/scources around the 1860 to 1865 period for Men that required them
to give their date of birth? Apart from Church records I can not offhand
think of any others.

Someone suggested Tax records.Did they use a date of birth on tax records at
that time?

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated as I am really
struglling with a family I am working on at the moment.
