All these years,and we've never [?] met a member of Wm Ball,of Del's
family.
Or have we[?] As I typed, I think maybe I did. Anyway, I aid in Thomas
Brown b 1730-34
m Mary Ball. We know them at Moorefield,WV ,on the South Branch,Potomac
1777 era.
Bourbon Co,Ky and Clermont Co,Oh [d 1816-18. As best I understand this
new DNA science,
we've been led back to the Pecander-White Clay area. And though we've
known 10 years of
Wm Ball starting an iron furnace on White Clay in 1722,we knew little
more. Recent researched,aided
by the good foks on DENEWCAS-L,and oldswedes, and AMXROADS-L,IS GIVING
HINTS THAT
match our clues. I'm with a grouping of long time genealogists. 1960's
1970's they were digging.
Anyway, the Joseph Ball,of John, ironmaster at Batsto,NJ and "Ball
Cousins" book hero had
ties to the Rhods family below. Thomas and Mary's kids married Pvt Wm
Curl,of Jeremiah,in Capt
James Parsons'1775 Romney WV payroll. And another to Pvt James Arthur,
and a 3rd girl,by 1780,to
James,of Andrew,of Antoni Sodowski, and the boys m
Coonrod,John,Trotter,and Parker girls. Plus one
JANE COX,housekeeper? became heir,"if" she did not marry!
Local DAR ladies were not shy about publishing about Thomas and Mary Ball
Brown,but they
were shy on facts, and long on tradition. .Shy on libraries, and long on
publishers.
