My guess would be that since John married Rebecca, and Ann didn't marry
until 1810, then Ann might be John's sister. Had she been the mother of
these children, would she have needed to be named guardian?
Anyway, I have the marriage of John and Rebecca in 1790--but you already
had that.

On Feb. 4, 1680, a petition was sent to Governor Andross to have a new
county established between New Castle County, DE and what is now Sussex
County, DE. One of the petitioners (those living in that area) is JOHN
BARTON. The petition was granted and Kent County, DE was established.

In February, 1795, John Wise BARTON, Thomas Laws, Isaac Cooper,
Nathaniel Mitchell and John Collins were appointed managers of a lottery
to raise three thousand five hundred dollars for the purpose of
reimbursing the subscribers for the erection of the court-house and jail
in Sussex county. The State also paid Thomas McKean £173 6s 11d., being
a balance due him for public services rendered to Delaware as a delegate
in Congress.

There are no Molly, William, Samuel or Archibald Barton's. There are
loads of Swain/Swayne names. Can you be a bit more specific?
