Hi Listers,
I'm new to the list. I have copies of several pages from the DE Genealogical Society Journal (October 1986). One appears to be a reproduction of the cover of the 1850 commencement program of 1st Mary's College, Wilmington, Delaware.
The next page has a catalogue of students, 1857-8 which was prepared for a 1961 thesis, from the schools records. A Henry FIRTH is among the names.
The Henry FIRTH that I am researching was a doctor in New York. Henry has not been found in the New York Census of 1850 but he is there in 1860.
My question is:
Did St. Mary's College teach medicine?
There is a hand written note that says: St Mary's evolved into Seton Hall University (Catholic). Does Seton Hall still exist?
Thank you for your time.
