I am working on a voluntary research project for a Colorado Museum.
I have now transcribed, to the best of my ability, all the names
on a gorgeous 1841/1842 signature quilt that is in their collection. It
was made for Susanna Zimmerman, primarily by persons living in
Montgomery County, PA. There is one signature from Philadelphia and
some from DE. Any help you can give me in determining the relationship
and understanding the lives of the signers will be greatly appreciated.
I am very interested in the religious affiliation of the signers as well.
I will be writing a history of the families for the Museum files and
exhibits.
There are over 80 names, many of which I'm sure are spelled differently
from what I've written below. Names on signature quilts are sometimes
very hard to read. The quilt is an exquisite record of the love held by
others
for Susanna and I hope to do it justice.
Thank you very much in advance for responding.
Sincerely,
Jan Thomas
