Hi Shirley - Notice you mention Dronninglund, Skæve. My grandfather's father
was born here in Dronninglund District, but in Øster Hässing, and my husband
and I have travelled the area on a trip.
Do you have any map of the area. I could share one with you, which
indicates these areas. I see on one of my maps, what must be the village of
Skæve. I can locate places on the maps in the book entitled "Genealogical
Atlas and Guide of Denmark" by Frank Smith and Finn A. Thomsen, Thomsen's
Genealogical Center, Bountiful, Utah. I have checked and they still have
some, as well as one for Sweden, which is just as helpful to me.
The names I have in the area are my gr gr grandfather, Peder
Christensen, and they were married in Vor parish 22/11 1833. They had 8
children:
Niels Pedersen, born 6/1/1834 in Agersted
Ane Cathrine Pedersdatter, born 30/1 1836 in Agersted
Thomas Pedersen 18/12 1838, ditto
Margrethe Pedersdatter 2/8 1841 in Ørsø
Lars Peter Pedersen born 30/10 1844 in Ørsø - My gr grandfather!
Birgitte Pedersdatter Born 26/4 1847 in Ørsø
Johannes Pedersen 5/2 1854 in Ørsø
The complete family of Lars Peter Pedersen above came to a Danish
Village in northeast New Brunswick, eastern Canada in the late 1890s.
Dronninglund is in District of Dronninglund, ,and County of Hjørring, on
the northern tip of Jylland, the mainland of Denmark.
I doubt that anything matches but you never know. Elsie Nilsson
Gustafson
