Christian Ludewig Quist and Sara Ulrika Krabe are the parents, Engelbrecht
was the child and Generalkrigskommissæren Engelbrecht Hesselberg was a
witness. Not the first one named in the birth record, but a witness.

That is what I took it to mean, that is a contraction of Engelbrecht datter.
It might be er rather than ir. The handwriting is not the easiest to read.
The title sounds pretty impressive and Anna Maria Elizabeth
Engelbrechts/er/ir was the mother for Christian Ludewig Quist. His father
was Niels Mortensen/Nicolai Matthiassen Quist, whom I have already mentioned.
Niels Mortensen was a master shoemaker and I wondered whether he would have
to have had connections to have so important a man as a witness/sponsor to
his child. And the child was named after him, at least it looks like it.
