BYU is Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. The Oldest and best known of
the Universities with a LDS background.

Oxon could be a short form of Oxford University but I didn't get the
context. It's from the Latin and one could write (and many did). MA (Oxon)
after their names because having a Master's from Oxford was considered a
very high academic achievement.
