My father was a country blacksmith - and he used
"tommer", but he was stubborn - and it was a long
time ago!

Hello,
Until I became an engineer, I, like Cai obviously, used centimeters too.
Before going to school, I had a 6 month smith apprentice period at a local
factory, helping some of the smiths. One of the guys I was helping asked me
to take a measure, and then asked what it was. When I gave him the measure
in centimeters, he looked at me and said.
"Use milimeters. You're a smith, not a #¤%&/#=#&¤ carpenter !!"
Any carpenters on this list ??? (Cai ??)
Take care
Martin
