Your directions are perfect. Unfortunately, I am so new to Danish
research I can't seem to figure out how to translate the place I have
with the info on this site. Perhaps you can give me some direction.

Rudolph Lorenzen b. 1/9/1839 in Berg, island of Fehrmarn,
Schleswig-Holstein.
I think this area should still part of Denmark in the 1840 census I was
trying to search. I couldn't figure out which was amt, herred, or sogn.

Thanks for any help you give.
