This is my first message to "rootsweb", so bear with me. For sometime now I
have been doing research on my father's family. Peder Eriksen and his
brother, Erik Kristian, came to the United States from Silkeborg in 1909 after three
of his older sisters established themselves in Sioux City and Denver. The
entire family eventually came to this country between 1906 and 1919. My
Grandfather Christian Thomsen Eriksen had six siblings who stayed in Denmark. The
eldest, Jørgen Christian Eriksen, was born in Brædstrup (Skanderborg), and the
others were born in Grædstrup Parish on a place called Buurgaard. Their names
were Else Marie Eriksen (Nielsen), Ane Margrethe Eriksen, Søren Andersen
Eriksen, Jens Eriksen (Patrine), and Karen Eriksen (Laugesen). Their father was
Erik Kristian Kristiansen Thomsen who was a "Hjulmand", as his father Thomas
Christen was. The family moved to Ljørring (Avlum Parish).

Surely some of my family is somewhere in Denmark and if anyone has
information that can help me, I would very much appreciate it. I have been to Denmark
six times and will be going to Germany next summer to visit my daughter and
would like to learn more before then.
