Dear Lesley
Thanks so much for your help - with the links Rock & others have given me,
I too spent all day New Years Day going through all the Danish Census with
no luck - I must be getting better at researching in Denmark - it only took
me about 20 entries to decide that we only have half of his name - lol. I
guess this is a brick wall that cannot be knocked down
Thanks so much again for your time
Kindest regards
Darlene in Australia

you can see I don't have a last name for his mother and unfortunatley it was
listed as unknown on his death certificate. From the bits I have put
together so far - I think he would of left Denmark when he was abt 20 so
around 1867 as he then went to New Zealand where he married an english lady
Susan Blight. Married in NZ in 1878 had 5 children there (one named William
Adolph, Engelborg again after his mum and Lauritz Carl - are these Danish
names?) and within 5 or 6 years he was living in Melbourne Australia and
went on to have another 5 children one of whom is my great grand mother who
I lived with most of my young life.
