Hej alle,

I have two photographs, apparently of the same platinum-blond child,
both taken in San Francisco.

One is of a baby in a white dress, with hand-crochet lace, taken by
Abell & Priest, 223 Market St., S.F. The other is of a 3-year-old boy,
huge check bow tie, calf-length boots, knickerbocker suit.

Photographer for this one is J.H. Peters, 914 Market St., S.F.

Some questions on the San Francisco list have narrowed the dates for
Abell & Priest to 1885-1890, and J.H. Peters (at that address) to 1885
to 1893 (at least), when he appears in the telephone directory at that
address.

The idea I am toying with now is that the mother might have been Sidsel
Marie Albertsen, b 28 April 1859, in Dunkær, Rise. I found her migration
to New York in Ancestry, date 24 June 1887 ... and have another photo,
this time taken by Cramer, 402 Kearny Street, S.F., which is of an
unknown woman together with Rasmus Hansen Albertsen, b 24 Oct 1863 in
Dunkær, Rise.

(He was a carpenter, and migrated to San Francisco in 1888).

Never married - but why not a photo of the emigrant brother and sister,
to send home to Denmark? Only *slight* worry with this line of deduction
is that my first estimate of the *age* of the woman in the photograph
was 25, rather than c30, as she would need to be, if it is indeed Sidsel
Marie.

But, if anyone has access to Census records, and could check for me,
that would be much appreciated :-)

BTW, both Sidsel Marie and Rasmus are in the family line of the woman
who gave me the photos, my Danish 3c1r Ruth Lis Pedersen.
