Well Susan...we have yet another another Samuel .... Samuel Benjamin =
Dennis in Stewart Co. Tenn. who was born in Md. and picked up a wife =
Cynthia in Ky. Born in Md. about 1786. Can't place him either. There =
was a William and a Thomas in same area in late 1700's and early =
1800's...I haven't found the connection, but suspect there is one since =
Samuel had two sons named William and Thomas later. Please keep this =
Samuel in mind as you track these folks... I have long suspected he has =
a Kentucky connection (Stewart Co. is on Kentucky line, his wife was =
from Ky., and he has a daughter named Narcissa which is common in the =
Kentucky Dennis line), but no one has yet claimed him. Anyway...there =
is yet another Samuel mystery in this neck of the woods for you... I =
keep hoping someone will recognize him. If they ever do I have lots to =
tell and share.

I am very confused about the individuals Samuel Grant Stevens Dennis =
and Samuel James Shelton Dennis. I am needing information about which =
one was the son of Jacob "Jehu" Dennis (born 4/11/1816, son of Samuel =
Yocum Dennis) and Sarah Elizabeth Stephens.

The 1850 Morgan Co., Ky. census shows Samuel G. S. aged 14, son of =
Jacob and Sarah. Other data I have collected says that the son of Jacob =
was born Jan. 3,1836 in Morgan Co. and married Anna Johnson on Sep. 3, =
1856. She is the daughter of Israel Johnson and LaVinney Little. I =
have his death date as May 20, 1902.

In the marriage records of Morgan Co. there is a Samuel J. Shelton =
Dennis marrying Martha J. Bowland on the same date of Sep. 3, 1856. I =
have a Mathias Dennis (b. 1798) and Patsy Day with a son Samuel James =
Shelton Dennis (b. 1837). Are these the same people?

On the 1880 Menifee Co., Ky. census there is a Samuel J. Denis, age =
42, married to Tilda J., age 30, with children Margaret 7, Martha J., 3, =
and Liza J., 4/12.

Any clarification on all these Samuels would be appreciated.
