I have learned more about the Dennis folks in my line. Does anyone have information which connects?
John Dennis -> Joseph Dennis -> William S. Dennis -> James Dennis -> James Dennis -> Sandra Dennis
Joseph Dennis (parents John Dennis and Mary) and Almarinda Murphy (born 1835 in St. Francois) married and had at least three children: William S., Mary Alice, and Nancy Angeline.
It appears Almarinda was Moses Murphy's sister (parents John Murphy and Elizabeth McLain) which would make William S. and his wife Nannie Murphy cousins. Joseph is shown with Almarinda on the 1860 US Census in Jefferson Township, Saline County, Missouri:
Joseph Dennis, age 25, IA
Amarinda, age 25, MO
After Almarinda's death Joseph married Lucy Jane Mayfield (born 4 October 1849 in Cooper County, MO, died 22 June 1927 in Kansas City, MO). Joseph is shown with Lucy on the 1870 US Census in Jefferson Township, Saline County, Missouri:
Dennis, Joseph age 35, Fm Lab, Mo
Dennis, Lucy age 30, Mo
Dennis, Mary A. age 12, Mo
Dennis, Angeline age 8, Mo
Dennis, William age 6, Mo
Dennis, John age 1, Mo
Joseph Dennis and Almarinda Murphy had the following children:
1. William Steve Dennis was born 26 Jun 1864 in Missouri. He died 17 Jun 1935 in Silver Spring, Randolph, Missouri.
2. Mary Alice Dennis was born December 1860. She died 25 May 1946.
3. Nancy Angeline Dennis was born 28 Feb 1862. She died 5 Dec 1951.
