You can't get a death certificate for Joel, can you? It would give you his
birth date and parent's names, too...

The only one we have proof of is Joel Den(n)ison, born abt 1800-1805 in
either VA or TN. He married Anna Jackson 4/20/1838 in Barren Co, KY.
There were several Dennison families in Barren County at that time;
Samuel and Benjamin to be precise. I believe there were others but do
not have names. I do not know who Joel belongs to, nor do I know about
the other Dennisons.

Joel and Anna had 8 children:
James, b. 1839 in KY
John Burch, b. 2/8/2840 in KY
Eliza Jane, b. 1/12/1843 in KY (my ancestress)
Daniel Albert, b. 3/7/1844 in KY
Mary Ann, b. 1845 KY
Sarah, b. 1848 Reynolds Co, MO
Jeremiah M., b. 4/4/1849 Reynolds Co, MO
Benjamin Franklin, b. 1/1/1852 Reynolds Co, MO

Joel was killed by bushwackers during the Civil War in Reynolds Co, MO
and is buried in Black, Reynolds Co, MO. Anna died before 1860 and is
buried in Little Brushy Creek, Reynolds Co, MO.

The are several references out there that Joel was born in TN and VA,
but no proof. That is what I am trying to find out, where and when and
who his parents were. I don't ever claim folks until I have proof, ie.
documentation, not just stuff on the net.

I was asking about those other folks due to the cost of the Shoemaker
book. If indeed they were my ancestors, I would purchase the book.
However, at $129., I wanted to make sure first.

This is the exact sum of our knowledge of Joel Dennison. We have no
other leads. Any help greatly appreciated.
