Dear Doug:

Well I can't help myself. After that foray of yours into the
difficult/unusual names fray I offer up my own:

26 years ago when I was picking a name for my oldest daughter from a baby
naming book. I came across a mention in the index of the book. The author was
cautioning people about the names they burden their children with. At the
time (as we had just come out of the flower power sixties) I was considering
naming her Breeze, which I considered to be different and romantic. He
included a short list of "never use these" for examples. My favorite was the
self indulgent Texas Senator who named his children Ima and Ura --- HOGG!

Lesson learned, I named her Ashley.
