There is a Framework Knitters' Museum at Ruddington Nottinghamshire
(i.e. about 5 miles from my home) It does not seem to have a web
presence or email address.
The brochure says
COME & EXPLORE the cottages restored to 1850 and 1900 with their
communal pump, wash-house, privy and pigsty
SEE the historic knitting frames in use
WATCH the video presentation
VISIT the Primitive Methodist Chapel where the knitters worshipped
BROWSE the shop
TRAINING FACILITIES on Griswold sock machines and knitting frames --
