I've just finished constructing the first stage of a web site devoted to genealogical resources of South Derbyshire, and area roughly corresponding to the old Hundred of Repton & Gresley, and mostly located south of the Trent.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~brett/sdindex.htm

Thus far, I've concentrated on data transcribed by Gill Castle, Val Kennedy and myself for the parishes of Stapenhill and Newhall, as well as extracts from various Trade Directories. Gill and Val have done enormous amount of work, as you will see when you visit the site, and I am very grateful for their permission to include the transcriptions. I have also provided indexes, to make searching for particular individuals easier. I'm afraid that many of the pages are fairly large, and will take some time to load - I've tried to strike a balance between visual clarity and loading speed. Please be patient, and I hope it will be worth the wait.

Constructive comments/criticisms welcomed!

This is what I have uploaded so far:

Stapenhill Baptisms 1770-1800 (Val Kennedy)
Stapenhill 1841 Census (myself)

Newhall Baptisms 1833-1882 (Gill Castle)
Newhall Marriages 1845-1877 (Gill Castle)
Newhall Burials (coming shortly)
Newhall 1841, 1861 & 1871 Censuses

I'm currently preparing data for Newton Solney and Church Gresley (and a few other snippets) for inclusion. If you have any other copyright-fre material relating to any parishes in South Derbyshire which could be included, this would be greatly appreciated.
