Evening list,
Met a few Derbygeners at DRO today, thought it was a
takeover bid. Leading the possee was Brian Small looking resplendent in his
Mountie uniform.
A brother and sister Bostock and a Joy Hungerford relative trying to confuse
the Revenue.
These few entries are from the the parish of Shirebrook, originally a
township in the parish of Pleasley on the County border with Notts.

8 Aug 1847 Elizabeth dau of Saml and Elizb. BEDDISH ? Warsop Park, lab.
(certainly looks like Beddish but never heard that name before, the obvious
one is Reddish)
20 Feb 1848 Elizabeth dau of Wm and Sarah BEARD Mansfield lab.
6 Aug 1848 John son of Saml and Martha SIMPSON Warsop Park servant
6 Aug 1848 Matilda as above
29 Jan 1849 William of Wm and Anna CROOKS Warsop Park , lab.
13 May 1849 Elisa of James and Anne LEE Warsop Park, lab.
9 Jun 1850 Elizabeth of William and Anne SHELBURN Littlewood ,servant
