I have been supporting freereg for some time, by transcribing marriage
registers from the earliest available to 1837 and have completed a number of
parishes, which are available free of charge on their site.
But, as an 83 year old, I do not feel competent to organise the workload of
finding and processing the filmed copies of parish registers into a form
from which a transcription can be made and at the moment the freereg site do
not have a responsible person to carry out this work for the Derbyshire area
and this is hindering volunteers from carrying out the work of
transcription.
Full advice for all helpers is available on the freereg site:-

Any help would be useful
