Subject: [DESUSSEX] Steen and Carmean and Davis
Date: Sat, 23 Jun 2001 20:40:15 EDT
I have recently come into information regarding the above families that I am
hopeful the members of this list might be able to expand upon.
Captain Woodrow Steen sailed to this country in the late 1700's or early
1800's. Aboard that ship was a Thomas Davis who eventually worked as a
trustee at the Alms house in Georgetown. He fathered two children with one
of the workers at the Alms house, one son named Henry and the other son's
name is unknown.
Captain Woodrow Steen fathered a daughter named Niecy or Eunice. Niecy
(Eunice) went on to marry a Carmean. From this union a daughter was born
named Nancy. Nancy married Henry Davis, son of Thomas Davis.
Unfortunately I don't have exact dates for any of the above. It is
approximated that all of this occurred within the late 1700's to early 1800's.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has additional information.
Celeste
