Gwen, this is a rather backdoor way to get to you, but I attempted to e-mail you directly and it was refused. The following pertains to the Townsend information you so kindly sent me.
Hi Gwen,
What a wonderful surprise! Thank you so much for the information. I am relatively new to genealogy, so was wondering if your notation in the first line: Elias (5), Charles, (4), William (3), John (2), John (l) denoted each previous generation? If so, do you happen to have information regarding these predecessors? I have a copy of Elias' will and also Edith's father's will (John Collins- 1776). I have John, Hancock, Elizabeth, Mary, Andrew, Edy and Rachel as his children. To continue being presumptive, do you happen to know who John Collin's father was? There is a Capt. John Collins and his brother, Andrew who were mentioned on a deposition of Thomas Willin (Argo - I think) - in 1761. I have reviewed all the census' on Ancestry.com, but still can't seem to tie them all together.
As for Edith Townsend and Henry Davis, I am descended from Robert Manlove Davis and Mary Jane Abbott (another line I haven't been able to penetrate) as well. Their son, Robert Alfred Davis is my great-grandfather.
All of your work, and I do know it is time, effort and travel, should be rewarded, so if you have a charge for any material, I would be more than happy to reimburse you. Again, thank you so much and it is exciting for me to find someone attached to this line.
Meg
