Ezekiel or Richard Hall both found in Cincinnati at about the
same time as James and both from Maryland. I do not know where or when
Richard was born but Ezekiel was born on "the Eastern Shore" in 1774
according to his tombstone. Ezekiel shows up in Cincinnati for the first
time about 1805 and Levi Houston moved to Kentucky (very close to
Cincinnati) before 1812. If anyone is researching Hall or Houston could you please contact me

Rodney - It might or might not be that Halls or Houstons are collaterals of my 'SUBJECT' names, but your mention of CINCINNATI brought to mind some family lore.

When Waitman & Mary Elinor Collins HASTINGS & inf. son Eli were en route from Sussex, DE, or Worc./Wicomico/Somerset, MD, to OH in 1846, they stopped in Cincinnati area for about 4 mos. before going on north to settle in Mercer Co., OH. (This from Waitman's obit. or Mercer Co. late 1800s History.)

I don't imagine they stopped at a hotel; someone must have been there that they knew or were related to. I've always had the impression that Mary E.'s parents, Solomon 1800-1849 and Nancy WALSTON 1798-1873 COLLINS were along on the same trip west; can't swear to that.

However, family lore has it that Nancy WALSTON COLLINS was known to have gone alone with horse & buggy from Ft. Recovery, Mercer Co., OH, to Cincinnati, a distance of 75-100 mi.? I don't think it was to shop. Someone she knew or was related to must have been in the area.

Does anyone reading this see any connection in Ohio with HALL, HOUSTON, HASTINGS, COLLINS families - all from Lower DELMARVA area in 1700s. Waitman Hastings'parents were James d. 1833 and Alafare d. 1840s BENNETT Hastings of Little Crk. Hd., Sussex, DE. A's father was John BENNETT.

If someone could tell me the burial places of the last three aforementioned, I'd be most happy.

HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE! Margaret Hastings Hendrix
