The 1870 census lists a Henry Timmons family in Baltimore Hundred (near Roxana, DE, [nowhere near Baltimore City). The father is age 31 (thus b. ca.1839). A son, John H, is age 6 (thus b. ca.1864). This son, is, I believe, the same John H. Timmons who later marries "Olive ?" and becomes the father of the Alvin John Timmons that married my Dad's cousin Imogene Long. If your Timmons was born 1849, he must be someone else.
