At an Orphan's Court held at George-Town in and for the county of Sussex, the 28th day of April 1797 before the Honorable Richard (unreadable surname)Daniel Rodney & Henry Johns, Esquires
Justices of Said Court

PRESENT Kendle Batson, clerk

Came into Court Gibson Ross and made known to the court by his petition that pursuant to the former order of court he had had five freeholders to enrer on the lands whereof William Ross, big late of the county aforesaid deceased, died seized of intestate to see if it would admit of division among the heirs and legal representatives of said deceaded, which said freeholders after veiwing and maturely considering the same did report and say the lands and premises wouldn not admit of the division required without marring and spoiling the whole.

Whereupon he prayed the court to appoint three freeholders of said county to enter on and view said lands and premises and make a just extimate of the intrinsic value thereof persuant to the law.

Whereupon it was considered by the court and ordered that Thomas Laws, Curtis Jacob & William White Gentlemen do enter on said lands being first duly qualified according to law and after viewing and maturely considering the same proceed to make a just extimate of the intrisic value thereof pursuant to law and the fame to certify to the next Orphan's Court as the law directs.

Sussex County, I do certify that the freeholders mentioned in the above order of the court were sworn before me this 23rd November 1798

In obediance to the within Order of the Court we the within mentioned freeholders went on the lands and premises within mentioned and after viewing and maturely considering the same do certify at the price of three dollars per acre for each and every (unreadable, then being the quantity of Nine Hundred and Sixty three acres as witness our hand this twenty third day of Novermber Seventeen Hundred and Ninety eight.
