Many thanks to GlennF for the detective work to find the date of the
Pigot's Directory made available by Cornwall Online. The year 1824 would
certainly fit in with the information about my ancestor and her inn, the
"Blue Anchor" on Bideford Quay. The NDRO has a rate book for Bideford for
the 1820s and from 1825 onwards, another innkeeper is given for this inn.
By 1830 the inn had been renamed "The King's Arms" which has remained the
name until this day!

Any further information on Bideford Quay Inns would be welcome.
