Hi All

My great grandfather, Robert RUTHERFORD, was a Private in the "2nd Devon
(Prince of Wales) Rifle Volunteers - Tavistock Detachment" from
1881-1884 when he left to come to New Zealand. I am finding it very
difficult to find out anything about this military unit.

Does anyone know anything about them or where I could find out some
information? One lady from Canada did e-mail me but her e-mail was
distorted in transit. Perhaps she will read this and please re-send her
message. Or anybody else with information - I would truly love to hear
from you as I am not sure where to go from here.
